Official attendance is recorded at 10:00 a .m. every day. The "official attendance" report is to be sent to the office (Ms. Jonkins) at 10:00 a .m. each day. The state and district attendance policies no longer recognize absences as either excused or not excused. An absence is an absence no matter the reason.
When returning to school, after an absence, a student will:
Present a signed statement from the parent or guardian stating the duration and reason for the absence.
All parents will be notified if their child's absences have exceeded 10 days. The SIMS Coordinator will be the responsible party for notifying parents of the absence policy.
Student Early Release
Any student who needs to be dismissed early, for any reason, must be checked out through the office. Parents are required to come to the office and officially sign the child out of school. The parent/guardian will be given an official Dismissal Form after they have signed the child out. The parent / guardian must present the Dismissal Form to the teacher before the child is allowed to leave the classroom. DO NOT allow a student to leave early if the parent and student have not followed this policy.
Student Tardies
Classroom instruction begins at 7:45 a .m. each school day. Students are considered tardy after 7:50 a. m. If a student is frequently tardy please call the parent and explain the importance of being on time. When a child has been tardy 10 or more times the teacher will be responsible for notifying the SIMS Specialist and parent notification needed.
Student Withdrawal
Any student withdrawing (moving to another school) from school must be directed to the school office. The dismissal process should begin one day prior to the student's last day in this school. A withdrawal form must be processed through the school office. Please fill out all information regarding textbooks, library books and grades. No student is to be dropped from the school roll until the SIMS Specialist (Ms. Jonkins) notifies you that the student has been "officially" withdrawn.
