Osborne’s “Winter Wonderland” Program was celebrated on December 15, 2009. Each grade level read a poem or performed a song to highlight the occasion. Our “Owl-some Owl” Dance Team had the audience captivated by performing a magnificent praise dance.
On Monday December 7, 2009 the awesome Eric Cork came to our school. We were in the cafeteria all day where he rode bikes and taught us rhymes. He is the funniest person I have ever met. Eric Cork teaches writing and that is why he came to Osborne Elementary.
On November 10th, my fourth class participated in the Greensheet Youth Scope Writing Program. A representative from Greensheet came to our school to help us become better writers. We had to write a sentence about what the word “Holiday” means to us. Then we had to write about “If we could create a holiday what would it be called?”
On October 27th, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, PPCD and MI students visited the Oil Ranch in Hockley , TX. Students participated in the following activities:
Horses: Grooming, feeding, care & saddling
Dairy Cattle: Milk a Cow and discussion of dairy industry
Beef Cattle: Hand feed and discussion of cattle industry
Petting Zoo: Pet a variety of farm animals
In addition to the farm-like activities, each student brought home a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
